My Celebrity Crush? I Wanna Be a Rockstar!

Virginia Sullivan First Class Woman

Virginia Sullivan First Class Woman

When people ask me who my celebrity crush is- I have to admit, I got me a posse….

Now, I am not one for worshipping celebrities.  I’m the first to admit it. My girlies will say they swoon over George Clooney or Dermot Mulroney. Me? Not so much.  Unless….. it’s someone who brings more to the table than good looks.  And, if I have to be honest about it, I would trade my life in at the drop of a hat if I had a chance at NICKELBACK.

Nickelback is my Celebrity Crush

Nickelback is my Celebrity Crush

Yes, why should I limit my celebrity crush to one person? Chad, Ryan, Mike and Daniel all need my attention and love. I wouldn’t kick any of these guys to the curb. Actually, I’d prefer that they all just worship me and compete for as much of my attention as they could get.

What’s not to love?

Sexy songs- check

Fame and fortune- check

Great bodies- check

Dark, sultry good looks- check

They have everything to make them snuggly at night and yummy during the day.

But, as cute as they are, it isn’t just the guys.  I want the lifestyle. Being a Rockstar sounds pretty good to me. I’m sitting at my normal desk, writing normal posts, cooking normal  dinner in the late afternoon.  With them,  I’d  be traveling around in their tour bus, dodging the paparazzi, and attending all the hottest parties.  Who doesn’t want to be interviewed by day and recorded by night?

Granted, I’d have to handle all the screaming fans and worshipping groupies. Yes,  I’d have all that pesky attention fall –out.  Reporters would ask me things like “When did you meet?” And “How do you keep things so hot?”  Bloggers would post about what I wear, and analyze how my hairstyle has changed. But mostly, people would wonder why these hot young guys are obsessed with a woman who is so much older than them.

Plus, because they loved me so much they’d beg me to sing with them! Now those that know me know that I’m a closet Rockstar. Yes, I actually have a pretty good set of pipes, and I regularly rock out with Nickelback while driving back and forth to work and picking up the dry-cleaning.  I know I’m just a Rockstar in the making and as soon as they hear it- I’m in!

Adoring fans and the grunge-rock look not your cup of tea? Maybe not….But hey, this is my fantasy, isn’t it?

I have to admit that at one time I also would have loved to be a Rock Star. It would have been great to travel and have everyone at my beck-n-call. To have my choice at any one of a number of singers. I was into Kenny Rogers, and Elvis. Now do I still have fantasies yes I do but they have changed. They don’t take on the “I’m in my youth” but I am at my current age and my fantasies are more about the time away from the home life, in Italy with someone more my age and we are just having a good time. It is not about the spotlight it is more about just being with someone who thinks I am the greatest women on earth and wants to show me the world.

There is a part of me that at one time would have loved to be in the spotlight but now not so much. I love the slower life of just being with someone who loves me and wants to take care of me. And sometimes I feel guilty to have these fantasies because I am married to a wonderful man and should I be having those kind of fantasies. Well yes, after all it is just a fantasy and it is just for me and just for a little while.

The great thing about fantasies is that they can be what ever you want them to be. So fantasize about what every you want and enjoy it.

The way you put it Dawn, I can see how romantic it would be not to be a rockstar. To each his own, huh? And, of course that wonderful man you’re married to isn’t worried about a little fantasy, i’m sure. V

Rock stars do seem to be a common fantasy! (I say “thumbs up” to any and all fantasies!)

My friends were all GaGa (before the Lady) over the Stones, the Who, Bowie… Myself? I find the look intriguing, and I must admit – the way they move up on stage, it does get one’s mind to wandering…

I am GAGA over GAGA! love it! V

Nice spin! Who wouldn’t want to be a rock star?

    • Virginia

I’m glad I was able to make it sound fun- even though some people wouldn’t think that life would be attractive. But, give me a guitar and leather boots and I’m in! Thanks for stopping by, V

You sound like you’d be an amazing rock star. Dream big! Perhaps your crushes could be your back up band?

    • Virginia

That’s a great idea! My next fantasy….a backup band all to myself. thanks

  5. Haralee

Rock stars at your beck and call and then the opportunity to become one, what’s not to like!

  6. Brenda

Most of my crushes have been rock stars. They always ALWAYS let me sing along. :)

  7. Donna Highfill

Love Nickelback! Never had the desire to be a rock star, but I see the draw. Adam Levine might be my star of choice :).

  8. Connie McLeod

I spent hours as teen singing into a hairbrush and pretending to be Barbra Streisand. “Rain on My Parade” was my particular favorite. But if I sing at a party (not that I’m any good; I’m just hammy), I sing “Second-hand Rose.” Have fun singing along. Sounds like a lot of fun!

  11. Renee Baribeau (@PracticalShaman)

Have to admit, I secretly wish I could sing good enough to be on the Voice. I loved those young singers.

Did I ever tell you about the time I went to see Nickelback and after the show we went out to the parking lot to get my I.D out of the car and while we are standing there Chad comes walking by? I ran to give him a hug and he walked quickly by and said….”Sorry Sweetheart” and kept on walking. I was this close!!!!!! ;)

To many crushes to mention. However my boy band is Maroon 5……sigh. Dreamy music and delish eye candy to boot. I think it is healthy to have a pop band crush. I have seen them twice and for me that is pretty big. When I found out Adam was dating a Victoria Secret model I was inspired to loose 20 lbs!!
    Fun post this week……
KEEP ON ROCKIN…..FOREVER YOURS SARAH (that’ s my cyber autograph!)

    • Virginia

Maroon 5 works for me too- but I’ve never seen them in concert.Nice brush with fame….i’m impressed! xo

Loved your post! In my fantasy life I am also a singer and dancer. Ahh it’s nice to dream.

  14. Yvonne Wray

You’ve gotta rock ~ I’ve gotta dance! My celebrity crush is John Travolta, we’d tear up the dance floor disco style. I think Boomers are the best dancers.

From a newly adoring fan, thank you for the fantasy.
